Background:
As Postmaster, Williams has overall responsibility for the employees who provide outstanding delivery, Post Office Box, and retail service at the Abbeville and Shorterville Post Offices. Friendly retail associates greet customers who are mailing or shipping items and smiling carriers deliver mail and packages to 3,759 residences and businesses six, and sometimes seven, days a week.
During his 10-year career, Williams has observed many changes in the Postal Service. About two years ago, the Postal Service published an ambitious, but achievable, 10-year strategic plan, Delivering for America. The plan established a path to building a Postal Service that is financially strong and consistently delivers on-time for the American public.
