Long comes from a postal family. His father, Ricky Long, retired as Postmaster, Nauvoo, AL. Joyce Long, his stepmother, currently is Postmaster, Hackleburg, AL.
Long began his 10-year career as a City Carrier Assistant (CCA) in Dothan, AL. He delivered mail and packages for three years before becoming Supervisor, Customer Service at the Daleville, AL Post Office, located at 100 Virginia Avenue, Daleville, AL 36322.
“I was looking for stable employment with benefits and upward mobility. My dad’s postal career checked all those boxes,” said Long.
