USPS Temporarily Suspends Retail Operations at Luverne, AL Post Office Due to Flooding

LUVERNE, AL --- The U.S. Postal Service temporarily has suspended retail operations at the Luverne Post Office at 29 E 3rd Street, Luverne, AL 36049-9998. The Post Office flooded due to a burst pipe.

The Postal Service apologizes to its customers for the inconvenience. Their safety and well-being is our priority. Following repairs and a safety inspection, customers will be advised of a reoccupancy date.

In the interim, customers are asked to conduct their business transactions at the Rutledge Post Office at 1606 Lee Street, Rutledge, AL 36071-9998. Hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The Rutledge Post Office is closed on Sunday.

Luverne customers with proper identification may pick up their Post Office Box mail at the Rutledge location. Regular mail and package delivery will continue in the Luverne community while the Post Office is being repaired.

Customers are reminded that they may use Click-N-Ship to create shipping labels and pay for postage online at usps.com/ship. Customers may schedule a free Package Pickup. A carrier will pick up your package(s) during the regular delivery of your mail. It’s free regardless of the number of packages. Pickups can be scheduled at usps.com/pickup.
