What:

On Friday, July 21, 2023, the city of Patterson, AR, 72123 will experience an event that occurs only once a century.  It is called Date Meets ZIP when the date of 7-21-23 will match the city’s ZIP Code of 72123.  This rare occurrence will be recognized by a special postmark.

When:

A special stamp cancellation will be available for 30 days beginning Friday, July 21, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Background:

The possibility of having a Date Meets ZIP is quite rare.  It only comes around once every 100 years and, for most post offices, this never occurs at all.

Residents and businesses are welcome to bring their own postcards or envelopes, or purchase items from the Patterson Post Office and have them stamped with the commemorative postmark to remember this special once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

USPS can also provide this collectible postmark via U.S. mail. Customers simply need to send their stamped cards or envelopes in a larger stamped envelope to: Patterson Postmaster, 111 S. Main St., Patterson, AR 72123-9998.
