Friday is the Final Day to Adopt a Child’s Letter to Santa
Each year, hundreds of thousands of letters addressed to Santa arrive from children and families. Some letters ask for toys and games. Some ask for winter clothes. Some ask for help for themselves and their loved ones. With USPS Operation Santa, individuals and organizations can send responses and thoughtful gifts in Santa’s place.
This Friday is the deadline to adopt a child or a family’s letter on USPSOperationSanta.com, and participation in the program is easy.
Simply go online to USPSOperationSanta.com, create an account, choose one or more letters to adopt, then print an adoption confirmation packet. After selecting a gift for the child, prepare the item for shipping, and attach a QR Code from the confirmation packet to the package. The QR code allows a postal clerk to connect the package with the child or family’s address. Adopters will then bring the package to one of our participating offices, found on USPSOperationSanta.com/ship, pay for postage at the counter, and leave the package with the retail associate.
Many letters are currently waiting for adoption and there’s still time to help a child or family experience the magic of the holidays.
Letters will be available for adoption on USPSOperationSanta.com until December 20.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
