TONTO BASIN, AZ — The U.S. Postal Service has implemented an emergency suspension of the Tonto Basin Post Office effective immediately.

As a result of the nearby Bush Wildfire, the Postal Service is providing the following arrangements for customers served by the Tonto Basin Post Office located at 77 S Old Highway 188, Tonto Basin, AZ 85553.

Beginning today, June 17, 2020, and continuing until further notice, all retail and P.O. Box operations at Tonto Basin will be conducted at the Roosevelt Post Office located at 18762 N AZ Highway 188, Roosevelt, AZ 85545.

Tonto Basin customers can mail items, purchase stamps or pick up parcels at Roosevelt. The Roosevelt Post Office is open Mon-Fri: 9:30am – 12:30pm and 1:00pm – 4:00pm. The office is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Customers from Tonto Basin who are picking up P.O. Box mail at Roosevelt must do so at the retail counter during normal business hours. A valid picture ID is required to pick up P.O. Box mail. This is an emergency suspension of this office, not a permanent closure. Additional details will be provided as they become available regarding the reopening of this office.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
