Who:
On January 5, 2021, Public Law No: 116-308 designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 14955 West Bell Road in Surprise, Arizona, as the “Marc Lee Memorial Post Office Building.”
Marc Lee was killed in combat from enemy fire on August 2, 2006, when his team encountered insurgents outside of Ramadi, Iraq. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star and for his heroic actions that day. He also received the Bronze Star with Valor for his heroic actions on July 18, 2006, when he exposed himself to direct enemy fire to provide cover for his team.
Saturday’s ceremony will mark the official designation of the postal facility.
This dedication recognizes Marc Lee’s service to his country. He answered his nation’s call, defending her liberty and principles. He served his nation, his community, and his family.
