CAVE CREEK, AZ – Out of an abundance of caution, Retail, Post Office Box and Delivery operations at the Cave Creek Post Office, located at 38400 N School House Rd and Cave Creek Annex, 6710 East Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, AZ 85331, are suspended due to leakage of an improperly mailed package containing mercury.
Environmental officials are currently evaluating the situation and will advise on necessary mitigation efforts.
This is an emergency suspension of this office, not a permanent closure. Additional details will be provided as they become available regarding the reopening of this office.
Mail delivery in Cave Creek is also suspended today and will resume as soon as possible.

Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Sat. 9:00 am – 3:00 pm; closed Sunday.
Customers are reminded to bring proper photo identification for mail and package pickups.

The Postal Service reminds customers that metallic mercury and devices containing metallic mercury are always prohibited in the mail stream. This includes antique items such as thermometers, barometers, blood pressure monitors, switches and relays. Please see our press release for more information.
