U.S. Postal Service’s Operation Santa Kicks-Off in Los Angeles

The Postal Service is kicking off the 106th year of its iconic Operation Santa program. Join us to read special excerpts from letters written to Santa and interview Postal Service experts regarding the time-honored tradition.

Background:
Operation Santa is a letter-adoption program enabling members of the public, charitable organizations and businesses to respond to children’s letters addressed to Santa Claus.
Los Angeles’s Operation Santa program opens to the public on December 6. Potential “elves” can read and adopt letters December 10 – 14 from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Elves that adopt and answer letters can ship the gifts December 17 – 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 7101 S. Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90001.
Individuals, organizations and businesses will be asked to provide valid identification and sign an official Operation Santa organization or individual participation form before accessing letters for adoption.
