Nearly 3 billion pieces of mail, including 200 million packages, are expected to be processed and delivered during the week of December 17-23. Traditionally, what used to be the busiest day of the year has morphed into the “busiest week,” largely driven by an increase in online buying.
“During the busiest time of the year, people get frazzled with all they have to do,” said Bay-Valley District Manager Robert Reynosa. “Providing a convenience to our customers by giving them added days to give us their shipments is just one less thing they have to worry about. It’s all about Priority Yule!”
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
