FOSTER CITY, CA — To celebrate the opening of the new Foster City Post Office, the United States Postal Service along with Congresswoman Jackie Speier and Foster City elected officials will host a public ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, March 1, 2019.
The ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. in front of the new location at 750 Alma Lane, Suite 100, Foster City, CA 94404.
The celebration comes after the previous location had to close its doors in January of 2018 when the lease was not renewed by the landowner. Providing the city a new and improved Post Office became a focused and important goal for the San Francisco postal district. Congresswoman Jackie Speier and City staff aided USPS with accomplishing this goal.
“A Post Office has long been the cornerstone and identity of every community since our founding 242 years ago,” said San Francisco District Manager Noemi Luna. “We remain committed now, as we did then, to continue to bind the country and communities together through the mail that runs through it and the delivery to the more than 150 million addresses across the country.”
The new location is 3,800 square feet and features a modern design in a central and convenient location.
The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
