Guerneville P.O. Box customers get relief on where to pick up mail

GUERNEVILLE, CA — Since the Guerneville Post Office was forced to close due to severe flood damage, the San Francisco postal district has been working feverishly to find a closer and more convenient location for Post Office Box customers to pick up their mail. As a result of the closure, Guerneville P.O. Box customers had to go to the Occidental Post Office for their mail.

The postal district is happy to announce that starting Tuesday, March 12, a trailer will be located at the Guerneville Post Office parking lot to provide P.O. Box pick-up service 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Through Saturday, March 9, P.O. Box customers can continue to get their mail at the Occidental Post Office, 3805 Bohemian Hwy., Occidental, CA 95465.

There will be no mail pick up provided on Monday, March 11 at Occidental as mail is transported from Occidental to Guerneville.

There are plans to locate a mobile unit at the Guerneville Post Office to provide retail service while the Post Office remains closed. The Post Office is not expected to reopen before April 1, 2019.

The San Francisco postal district realizes how important the mail is to the Guerneville area community and wants to thank our customers for their patience as we worked tirelessly to continue to establish some normalcy in mail service during this difficult time.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
