Harv Jandu takes Oath of Office as Canoga Park Postmaster

CANOGA PARK, CA — On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., Harv Jandu will follow a proud tradition that dates back to 1945 when Mr. William Parkinson was appointed as the first Postmaster of Canoga Park.   

Jandu will raise his right hand to be sworn in as the eleventh Postmaster at the Canoga Park Post Office, 8201 Canoga Ave., Canoga Park, CA 91304.

In 1989, Jandu began his postal career as a city carrier in Winnetka, CA.  He worked as Supervisor Customer Service in Canoga Park Post Office from 1996-2013.  He was promoted and worked as Manager Customer Services at West Hills from 2013-2017. 

In 2017, he was promoted as Postmaster at Tujunga Post Office and was recognized as Postmaster of the Year for in 2018 in his area.

“I will lead my employees in providing first class service in a safe and efficient manner as well as guide them through their career development,” said Jandu. “I’m honored to have this responsibility and trust placed in my hands, and I will strive to provide our customers excellent service.”

Jandu and his wife, Laura, and their three children Emily, Sarah and Dylan reside in Simi Valley, CA. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems from Cal State Northridge. He is a member of the West Valley Music Center Orchestra and Canoga Park Neighborhood Council.  He enjoys golf and tennis in his spare time and listens to classical music.

As Canoga Park Postmaster, he manages all operations at the Canoga Post Office with a total of 89 city routes, delivering to 54,510 addresses and 4,222 Post Office Boxes.  He manages 176 employees who process, distribute, and deliver an average of 200,000 pieces of mail and 2,500 packages daily.

Sierra Coastal District Manager Post Office Operations Sarah Isordia will administer the official oath of office.  Jandu replaces Carlos Perfino who retired.
