CARDIFF-BY-THE-SEA, CA – The U.S. Postal Service has identified a new preferred location for the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Post Office.

At an April 11, 2018 public meeting, the Postal Service proposed relocating the post office to 135 Liverpool Drive. The new site is within walking from the current location on Newcastle Avenue.

There appeared to be a consensus from the community that it was important to maintain a presence within the Cardiff-by-the Sea ZIP Code.

Postal services will continue at the existing location until the new facility is opened. At this time, an opening date has not been determined.

The USPS was forced to look for a new site after being notified its current lease would not be renewed.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
