Escondido Letter Carrier receives Hero award

What:

The U.S. Postal Service will present mail carrier Eric Reyes with a letter from the Postmaster General of the United States for his heroic effort in saving the lives of two Escondido residents.

Background:

On October 16, 2018, Escondido letter carrier Eric Reyes was delivering his route when he heard a crash. He turned to see that two vehicles had collided. Other witnesses rushed to help occupants in one of the vehicles while Eric hurried to the other vehicle. He courageously pulled two people to safety before the vehicles burst into flames.
