Sacramento Postal District extends collection hours on Tax Day, April 15

SACRAMENTO, CA —Tax day is Monday, April 15. Customers who want the safety and security of the U.S. Mail to submit personal data contained on tax documents must have the envelopes postmarked on or before April 15, 2019 to avoid late penalties.

The Sacramento Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC) will be extending mail collection service on April 15 until midnight to accommodate last-minute tax filers.

Retail hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mail collection last pickup: Midnight

All other mail collection boxes and Post Office mail drops will be collected at their regular posted times. Customer are reminded to look at the last pick-up time before depositing mail.
All Post Office retail lobbies will adhere to their normal business hours. Individual Post Office service hours are available by visiting usps.com, or calling 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777).
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
