MENDOCINO, CA — Customers impacted by the damage caused to their Post Office Boxes by a vehicle crashing into the Mendocino Post Office will be accommodated with extended hours to pick-up their mail at the Dutch Door.

Starting Saturday, April 20, P.O. Box customers may go to the Mendocino Post Office, located at 10500 Ford St., every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The extended hours will recur until all of the repairs are completed.

Customers are instructed to provide valid photo ID to receive their mail.

“We here at the Mendocino Post Office are committed to providing the service we know our community deserves including having access to mail outside of our normal business hours,” stated Mendocino Postmaster Stephanie Bishop “We thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we work through this unforeseen inconvenience together.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
