American Canyon Post Office Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

AMERICAN CANYON, CA — To celebrate the opening of the new American Canyon Post Office, the United States Postal Service along with Congressman Mike Thompson and American Canyon city elected officials will host a public ribbon cutting ceremony next Wednesday, May 29th, 2019.

The ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. in front of the upgraded location at 310 Crawford Way, American Canyon, CA 94503.

The celebration comes after the current post office location underwent renovations to expand its size to meet the needs of the growing city. The post office remained open during the expansion which began in January 2019. Providing the city a more robust post office became a focused and important goal for the Bay-Valley Postal District. Congressman Mike Thompson and city staff aided USPS with accomplishing this goal.

“A post office has long been the cornerstone and identity of every community since our founding 242 years ago,” said Bay-Valley District Manager Robert Reynosa. “We understand that each community is unique. As growth and expansion occurs, we remain committed to meet the needs of that development.”

“Our mission remains the same, to bind the country and communities together through the mail that runs through the post office and delivery to the more than 150 million addresses across the country,” he added.

The improved extension of the American Canyon office added an additional 700 square feet and featured additional parcel lockers and retail space. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
