WHEATLAND, CA — On Friday, June 28, 2019, Dawn Giulietti will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Giulietti will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Wheatland Postmaster at a 1:00 p.m. ceremony at the Wheatland Post Office, 404 Fourth St., Wheatland, CA 95692. Post Office Operations Manager Cheri Valdivia will administer the official oath of office.
Giulietti began her U.S. Postal Service career in 1993 as a Relief Postmaster in Castella, CA. In 1999 she became a letter carrier in Dunsmuir, CA. In 2014 she worked as a supervisor in Redding, CA.
“I feel honored to be able to represent the Postal Service in this way,” Giulietti said. “To be able to be the postmaster of a community, such as Wheatland, has always been my dream. My goal is to help our local businesses thrive and to serve them by providing the best customer service by means of my expertly trained and dedicated staff.”
Giulietti enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, listening to music and reading. She has two children, Nicole, 31 and Travis, 24. She resides in Citrus Heights. For 20 years she was involved with The Fraternal Order of the Eagles and when her kids were younger, she volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League.
As Wheatland Postmaster, Giulietti oversees five rural routes with more than 5,700 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Wheatland services nearly 500 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Giulietti supervises twelve employees and oversees three other remote post offices, Nicolaus, Rio Oso and Sheridan.
