Hardip Singh to be Sworn in as Wilton Postmaster

WILTON, CA — On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, Hardip Singh will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Singh will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Wilton Postmaster at a noon ceremony at Wilton Post Office, 11090 Jeff Brian Lane, Wilton, CA 95693. Manager of Post Office Operations Alfred Valdivia will administer the official oath of office.

Singh began his Postal Service as a letter carrier in Oakland, CA in 1994. In 2009, he began his management career supervising carriers and clerks in Houston, TX. He has also worked in Carmichael, CA Laguna, CA, El Dorado Hills, CA and Walnut Grove, CA.

“I am extremely humbled and honored to be Postmaster of Wilton,” Singh said. “I aim to serve the Wilton community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly-trained team of dedicated employees.”

Singh is married to his wife, Kuljit Hayer. They have two sons, Kiratroop, 29 and Shubeg, 24. His father is Hardev Singh. He enjoys hiking, reading and traveling. He resides in Elk Grove, CA.  Singh possesses a Mechanical Engineering degree. He is actively involved in his local Sikh Temple and works with Sikhs for Humanity.

As Wilton Postmaster, Singh oversees over 2,200 daily rural mail deliveries with more than 10,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Wilton services 1,000 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Singh manages 13 employees and services a population of more than 5,000.
