Petaluma Hosts Free Hiring Event

PETALUMA, CA — Whether it’s your first career or your next career, the Postal Service is a great place to work, with job security, career advancement opportunities and benefits. The San Francisco postal district is hiring for several career positions currently available.

The hiring event will be held Thursday, August 29 at the Petaluma Community Center, 320 N. McDowell Blvd., Petaluma, CA 94954, with one hour time slots available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Applicants will be guided through the entire online application process at on-site computer stations to submit for available posted positions on www.usps.com/careers. The process usually takes one hour.

To seek employment, applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions do require an exam. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver license and clean DMV two-year driving history. Five year residency requirement is necessary for background checks.

Attendees should bring a photo ID, valid driver’s license, Social Security Card or birth certificate; and males a Selective Service registration number. Veterans should bring their DD214 for veterans’ preference.
