Misty Allen To Be Sworn In As Lathrop Postmaster

LATHROP, CA — On Friday, September 13, 2019, Misty Allen will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Allen will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Lathrop Postmaster at a 12 noon ceremony at Lathrop Post Office, 11529 Seventh St., Lathrop, CA, 95330. Manager of Post Office Operations Neil Gonzalez will administer the official oath of office.

Allen began her U.S. Postal Service as a postal support employee in Arnold, CA in 2000. In 2012, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Port Orchard, WA. She has also worked in Stockton, CA as a customer services supervisor.

“I am extremely humbled and honored to be Postmaster of Lathrop,” Allen said. “I aim to serve the Lathrop community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees. I am also happy to service our newest customers in River Islands.”

Allen loves to play sports with her six children. She has five boys and one girl. From oldest to youngest: Robert 21, Meghan 18, Frank 12, Marquise and Maurice 11 and Amar’e, 9. Allen resides in Stockton and volunteers at the Moose Lodge.

As Lathrop Postmaster, Allen oversees over 7,000 daily rural mail deliveries with more than 18,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Lathrop services nearly 600 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Allen manages 19 employees and services a population of more than 23,000.
