ETNA, CA – On Friday, October 4, 2019, Suzanne Reynders will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Reynders will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Etna Postmaster at a 10:30 am ceremony at the Etna Post Office, 119 Diggles St., Etna, CA 96027. John Tong, manager of postal operations, will administer the official oath of office.
Reynders began her U.S. Postal Service as a clerk in Paradise, CA, in 1997. She began her management career in 2015 supervising carriers and clerks in Palermo, CA. She has also worked in Oroville, CA.
“I am extremely honored to be Postmaster of Etna,” Reynders said. “The opportunity to be a core part of a small rural community has always been my dream. I aim to serve the Etna community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees.”
Reynders loves cooking, ceramics, watercolors, gardening and horse racing. She is married to her husband, Cheyenne, her parents are Darryl and Ann Bofferding and her sister is Elisa Correa. Reynders is a proud resident of Etna.
As Etna Postmaster, Reynders oversees over 500 daily rural mail deliveries with more than 4,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Etna services nearly 700 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Reynders manages ten employees and services a population of approximately 2,000.
