Sacramento power outage postal customer update

Several Post Offices will not have power

SACRAMENTO, CA — PG&E is turning off power to some 800,000 customers in 34 counties to reduce the risk of wildfire amid dry, windy conditions. Many of our postal facilities will also be affected.

If and when power is lost, select post offices in these affected areas will not be able to accept credit or debit card payments for postal retail services until the power has been restored. Normal mail delivery service will continue as long as it safe to do so.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we will resume normal retail operations as soon as the planned power outage has been lifted.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
