YUBA CITY, CA – On Friday, October 18, 2019, Karyn Rahming will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Rahming will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Yuba City Postmaster at an 11:00 am ceremony at the Yuba City Post Office, 761 Plumas Street, Yuba City, CA 95991. Manager of Post Office Operations Trameca Johnson will administer the official oath of office.
Rahming began her U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1986 in Rancho Cordova. In 2002, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Oroville, CA. She was also Postmaster in Wheatland in 2014 before becoming Postmaster in Yuba City.
“I am extremely humbled and honored to be Postmaster of Yuba City,” Rahming said. I aim to serve the Yuba City community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees. My goal is to maintain a positive relationship with all those in the community.”
Rahming loves to travel, read, listen to music and spend time with her family. She is married to Reginald, their children are Nichole, Reggie and Bryce. Her father is retired Rancho Cordova Letter Carrier Columbus Johnson and her granddaughter is Arden. Rahming is involved with the leadership at Calvary Christian Center PLO.
As Yuba City Postmaster, Rahming oversees nearly 30,000 daily rural and city mail deliveries with more than 47,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Yuba City services 1,900 daily Post Office Box deliveries. She also manages Marysville Post Office. Rahming manages six employees and services a population of more than 66,000.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
