“Trunk or Treat” Safety Stampede at the Post Office

Truck Rodeo has all the skills of bronc riding as postal truck operators maneuver course

Trunk or Treat Safety Stampede

What:

The San Francisco District of the United States Postal Service will put their drivers to the test in a ‘spooktacular’ safety demonstration of precision and skill as they maneuver a challenging course. Tractor Trailer and Motor Vehicle Operators will complete a challenging obstacle course that will highlight the level of safety and focus it takes to drive these USPS vehicles every day. It’s like bronc riding and calf-roping all in one while wrestling a steer.

Along with this unique rodeo, other postal vehicles will showcase their creativity in a spine-chilling auto costume contest. Children and families of Postal employees will partake in the ‘trunk or treating’ costume contest and other featured booths and interactive stations.

When:

Sunday, October 20, 2019
9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where:

San Francisco Mail Processing Facility
1300 Evans Ave. (East Dock)
San Francisco, CA 94188

Background:

To drive the importance and value in safety while behind the wheel the USPS processing is hosting its first annual Truck Rodeo or Trunk or Treat challenge for the employees and their families.

The San Francisco District has designed several creative safety contests that tackle the importance of driver safety including seatbelts, dog bite awareness and combatting distracted driving. This series of San Francisco’s Safety in Motion initiatives has earned the district several first place and top 5 rankings in the nation within the USPS on improvement in safety and number of reduction in accidents.

There is nothing more critical than safety for the employees at the San Francisco District and through a unified effort of engagement, originality and responsibility it is no coincidence that safety has reigned supreme in the district.
