U.S. Postal Service Looking to Hire Future Career Employees

SANTA BARBARA, CA —Whether it’s your first career or your next career the Postal Service is a great place to work, with job security, career advancement opportunities and benefits. The Sierra Coastal postal district is hiring for several positions and eager to have you on board.

The hiring event will be held on November 1 & 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Processing & Distribution Center located at 400 Storke Road, Goleta, CA 93199.

Applicants will be guided through the online application process at on-site computer stations to submit for positions posted on www.usps.com/careers. Several positions are available in Santa Barbara and in surrounding areas. Available positions include: mail carriers, mail handler assistants, auto mechanics, clerks and more. Please allow approximately three hours for this process.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver license and clean DMV two-year driving history.

Applicants must bring a photo ID, valid driver’s license, Social Security card or birth certificate and for men, a Selective Service registration number. Veterans should bring their DD214 for veteran’s preference. A five-year United States residency is required for background checks.
