Dozens of post offices still without power
SACRAMENTO, CA — Due to the planned power outages performed by Pacific Gas & Electric to reduce the risk of wildfire amid dry and windy conditions, many of our postal facilities have been affected.
Select post offices in Amador, Butte, Calaveras, El Dorado, Madera, Mariposa, Nevada, Placer, Shasta, Sutter, Tehama, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba counties will not be able to accept credit or debit card payments for postal retail services until the power has been restored. Normal mail delivery service will continue as long as it safe to do so.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we will resume normal retail operations as soon as the planned power outages have been lifted. We ask for your cooperation and patience during this very fluid and volatile period.
