Public Meeting December 5 on Proposed Relocation of Copperopolis Main Post Office

COPPEROPOLIS, CA — The United States Postal Service is considering relocating the retail services currently provided at Copperopolis Main Post Office, 405 Main St., Copperopolis, CA 95228 to a yet to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the existing location.

The Postal Service is considering relocation because the Postal Service has outgrown the facility. The new facility would be over twice the size as the existing 1,280 sq. ft. building. The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, preparing the new location for use as a post office and then transitioning the retail services to the new location. The Postal Service has not identified any suitable replacement locations at this time. There would be no impact to delivery operations or mail service.

A public meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Copperopolis Main Post Office, 405 Main St., Copperopolis, CA 95228.

At the public meeting, the Postal Service will outline the proposal to meet the need for relocation, invite questions and solicit written input on the proposal.
