San Diego County Post Offices Extend Hours for Holidays

Added time helps customers get shipments in the mail ahead of busy week

SAN DIEGO, CA — To ease the hustle and bustle of getting your holiday shipments in the mail, select Post Offices throughout San Diego County will extend hours on Saturday, December 14, 2019 and open for full retail services on Sunday, December 8 and15, 2019. With the week before Christmas anticipated to be the busiest week of the year, the Postal Service wants to ease the stress for customers needing to get their shipments on the way.

The following post offices will extend their retail service hours on Saturday, December 14.

The Carmel Mountain Postal Store, 11251 Rancho Carmel Drive, San Diego 92199 will be open for retail service from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8 and 15.

The U.S. Postal Service is ready to deliver more than 28 million packages per day between Dec. 16 and 21, and will average 20.5 million packages per day through the remainder of the year.

With a projected 800 million package deliveries between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, the Postal Service delivers more packages to home than any other shipper.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
