GUSTINE, CA – On Friday, February 7, 2020, Ramandeep Kaur will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Kaur will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Gustine Postmaster at a 1:00 p.m. ceremony at the Gustine Post Office, 316 Fifth St., Gustine, CA 95322.
Post Office Operations Manager Neil Gonzalez will administer the official oath of office.
Kaur began her U.S. Postal Service career as a clerk in 2011 in Merced, CA. In 2017, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Patterson, CA. She was promoted to postmaster in Gustine in September of last year.
“I feel honored to be able to represent the Postal Service in this way,” Kaur said. “Being a Postmaster is a privilege. My goal is to serve this community by providing the best customer service by means of my expertly trained and dedicated staff.”
Kaur is married to her husband, Amarpreet Singh. They have a son, Devpreet Singh, 12. She enjoys spending time with her family, helping others and always learning something new. She resides in Newman, CA.
As Gustine Postmaster, Kaur oversees three rural routes and three city routes generating more than 25,000 pieces of daily mail volume, with over 3,000 deliveries. In addition, Gustine services 560 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Gustine serves a population of nearly 6,000. Kaur manages 12 employees.
