Post Offices opening early on Tuesdays for seniors
SAN DIEGO, CA — During this national emergency, the U.S. Postal Service is firmly committed to being a source of constancy and reliability in every community. To help provide a safer environment for our senior customers, Post Offices throughout San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial Counties have implemented senior-only open times.
These special hours will be available every Tuesday by opening from 30 minutes to one hour earlier to allow seniors an opportunity to easily conduct their postal business. Opening times and duration vary by location, please check with local Post Office for posted hours.
“We would like to provide the senior citizens within our local communities, convenience and a safe environment in order to accommodate their needs when purchasing stamps and shipping parcels,” said Retail Manager Tonya Billingslea.
Senior Tuesdays will be available for customers 60 years and older and will be in place until further notice.
Also to assist with mailing packages, the Carmel Mountain Post Office, located at 11251 Rancho Carmel Drive, San Diego 92199, has recently renovated its drive up window. From the convenience of their vehicle, customers can purchase stamps and mail packages up to the size of a large Priority Mail Flat Rate Box.
Residents can view incoming mail and packages to arrive soon by signing up for Informed Delivery at www.informeddelivery.com. Order stamps, products, and free shipping supplies from https://usps.com/postalstore.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
