Final Decision on Proposed Relocation of Roseville Vernon Retail Station

ROSEVILLE, CA — On February 5, 2020, the United States Postal Service held a public meeting to discuss the possible relocation of the Roseville Vernon Retail Station located at 330 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA 95678. After having carefully considered all of the concerns expressed in those discussions, as well as in appeals and comments received after the public meeting, the United States Postal Service has decided to proceed with the proposal. The United States Postal Service has identified 116 S. Grant Street as its preferred new location.

The Postal Service needs to vacate the current location because the facility is being leased and the building is being sold to a developer. The Postal Service lease expires on July 31, 2020 and the new owner will not renew the lease. During the public comment period and at the public meeting, the majority of the community expressed a desire to see the new post office located within the current downtown Vernon Street area. This new location at 116 S. Grant Street, fits this desire.

When the new Post Office opens at this new location, the Postal Service anticipates providing the same services as are provided to our customers at the current location. The Postal Service plans to continue services at the existing Post Office until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office, so there will be no interruption of service.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
