Company recognized with National Award for Innovation by Postal Service
CONCORD, CA – If the Silicon Valley is known for anything, it’s innovation; and BlendJet is no exception. Earlier this year the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) recognized Silicon Valley startup, BlendJet, of Concord, for Innovation and Industry best practices as one of 14 National award winners.
BlendJet, the inventor of the powerful and trendy portable blenders, received the Shipping and eCommerce Innovation Award, which honors customers who have used industry best practices to implement new technologies to maximize efficiencies, and to convert requests for purchase and fulfillment into package orders and deliveries.
Due to its engaging advertisements and positive messaging, BlendJet has reached more than a billion people through social media and is now one of the most popular blender brands on Instagram, with over a million customers in 195 countries. At the peak of the recent holiday season, BlendJet sold one blender every five seconds on its website BlendJet.com.
Even before current pandemic, CEO, Ryan Pamplin, understood consumer’s expectation of quality products with fast, free shipping and set out to make a product that would benefit his customer’s health as well as their pocketbooks.
“Before we even designed the BlendJet One, our VP of Ops, Brian Zuk, evaluated all of the shipping options.” Pamplin recalls. “We knew that without a fast, reliable and economic way to offer free shipping, we’d never get BlendJet off the ground.”
Founding team member Brian Zuk realized that working with the USPS and designing BlendJet products to fit within existing Priority Mail Flat Rate packaging would be an unbeatable value proposition. “There really wasn’t another option that provided the level of service and value that the Postal Service offered.” said Zuk.
The BlendJet team got to work designing their product to take full advantage of USPS Flat Rate Priority packaging, down to the millimeter. “Amazingly, two BlendJet portable blenders in their boxes fit perfectly inside of one Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope, which is readily available at every Post Office.” With this solution, BlendJet is able to offer customers free two-day shipping to most domestic destinations from its California headquarters.
