Sacramento Select Post Offices Expanding Hours for Holiday Season

Sacramento Royal Oaks Station open three consecutive Sundays

SACRAMENTO, CA –  While we don’t know what’s in the weather forecast, the Postal Service is already starting to see a flurry of holiday packages.

USPS has expanded both delivery and retail services at many Post Offices – including many in the Sacramento Postal District.

Many area offices have 24-hour self-service kiosks in the lobby, allowing customers to bypass lines.

Additionally, USPS.com allows people to print labels, print postage, and call for their carrier to pick up their package from their home or office without ever going to a Post Office.

Between now and Christmas, many neighborhoods will also see mail carriers delivering packages on Sunday.

The Postal Service recommends customers in the U.S. observe the following mailing and shipping deadlines to ensure that deliveries are made in time for Christmas:
Important mailing deadlines:

MILITARY:
Nov. 6 — Military USPS Retail Ground service
Dec. 11 — Military Priority Mail and First-Class Mail services
Dec. 18 — Military USPS Priority Mail Express service

DOMESTIC:
Dec. 15 — Domestic Retail Ground service
Dec. 18 — First-Class letters and packages
Dec. 19 — Priority Mail
Dec. 23 — Priority Mail Express

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
