Background:
“Self-Service Kiosks provide easy access to postal products and services just as ATM kiosks provide easy access to banking services, but without the fees,” said Sacramento Postmaster Angela Bye.
SSKs accept debit or credit cards (no cash) to dispense stamps and postage in any amount for Express Mail, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail and Parcel Post services. SSKs also provide mailing information, ZIP Code lookup, Certified and Insured Mail, Return Receipt, Delivery Confirmation and other services.
“SSKs enable our customers to conduct business with us at their convenience,” said Royal Oaks Manager Matt Codd.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
