Background:
“Self-Service Kiosks provide easy access to postal products and services just as ATM kiosks provide easy access to banking services, but without the fees,” said Postmaster Ramela Younekian.
SSKs accept debit or credit cards (no cash) to dispense stamps and postage in any amount for Express Mail, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail and Parcel Post services. SSKs also provide mailing information, Certified and Insured Mail, Return Receipt, Delivery Confirmation, and other services.
“SSKs enable our customers to conduct business with us at their convenience,” said Younekian.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
