SAN DIEGO — The Niland Post Office is temporarily closed due to damage caused by a fire that occurred on Sunday in the complex housing the facility.

The office, located at 8018 Highway 111, Niland 92257, will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

During this closure, customers who normally receive their mail from the Niland Post Office via P.O. Box or carrier delivery can pick up their mail at the Calipatria Post Office, located at 190 W Main Street, Calipatria CA 92233. Customers are reminded to bring proper photo identification for mail and package pickups.

The Calipatria Post Office is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations
