Background:
On Wednesday, April 13th, in his seventh year as a postal employee, Fernando Navarrete will be sworn in as Isleton Postmaster.
Navarrete began his postal career in Clayton, CA as a letter carrier in 2015. Two years later he began his management career supervising carriers and clerks the same office.
“I am extremely honored to be Postmaster of Isleton,” Navarrete said. “I believe a Postmaster bridges the gap between the community and the post office that serves them. My aim is to serve this community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees.”
Navarrete is married to his wife, Rachel. They have two daughters, Talitha Joy and Havilah Faith. In his downtime he enjoys playing basketball and attends Calvary Chapel in Antioch, CA.
As Isleton Postmaster, Navarrete oversees over 1,200 pieces of daily mail. In addition, Isleton services 1000 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Navarrete manages five employees in total which include Thornton Post Office and Ryde Post Office, one rural route with nearly 700 deliveries, with a population of more than 800.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
