Manages USPS Retail & Delivery Services to Mountain Community
SAN DIEGO — Mark Perrera was recently named the Postmaster of the Idyllwild Post Office.
As Idyllwild Postmaster, Perrera supervises four postal clerks and oversees retail services at the Idyllwild Post Office as well as the daily distribution of mail to its 2,600 PO Boxes.
Perrera is a 27-year postal employee who previously served as the officer-in-charge of the Wildomar Post Office. He began his postal career as a holiday hire at the USPS’s Margaret Sellers Processing & Distribution Center in Rancho Bernardo CA.
“I feel grateful and blessed to be in my new position,” said Perrera. “I hope to continue the Idyllwild Post Office’s legacy of outstanding customer service to the community, and to contribute to the overall success of the Postal Service. Trust forms the foundation for everything I do in business and in my personal life.
“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities such as Idyllwild.
“I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to my wife Georgia for her continued support and to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”
Perrera was born and raised in Belize City, Belize. He earned an associate degree from Miramar College and two bachelor’s degrees from California State University San Marcos. His hobbies include cycling, working in his garden and taking walks with his wife. He and his wife reside in Lake Elsinore and have six grown children.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
