San Jose Post Office Job Fair Offers Unique Opportunity to Work Locally

SAN JOSE, CA — As part of our innovative and bold 10-year plan, Delivering for America, the Postal Service is focused on building a more stable and empowered workforce.

A job fair will be held at the San Jose Processing & Distribution Center, 1750 Lundy Ave., San Jose, CA  95101 on May 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Register at https://usps_jobfair.eventbrite.com.

“This fair not only enables applicants to work locally, but also enjoy the outdoors which is another benefit working for the Postal Service,” said Evelina Ramirez, regional spokesperson. “These positions pay nearly $20 per hour, but when you factor in a short commute to work, there are additional savings to factor in as well, such as no tolls, little gas, and your time.”

MEDIA ALERT:   RSVP to evelina.b.ramirez@usps.gov to interview and or shadow individuals whose employment in USPS has changed their life trajectory.  Career transition is possible with Postal Service.

To assist potential applicants, we will have computers on site and HR personnel will be available to provide guidance as the applicants submit their application. Applications are accepted online only at www.usps.com/careers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays. See the job posting for full details for duties, responsibilities, requirements, and benefits information. Job postings are updated frequently, so check back often for additional opportunities.

Whether it’s your first career or next career, the Postal Service is a great place to work that provides job security, career advancement opportunities and generous benefits.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
