RICHVALE, CA — In accordance with 39 C.F.R. § 241.4, this is the United States Postal Service’s final decision with respect to the Postal Service’s proposal to relocate Richvale Post Office retail services located at 1259 Broadway, Richvale, CA 95974 to 5219 Church St., Richvale, CA 95974.
Due to Covid-19, in lieu of a public meeting, a postcard was sent to the community on August 14, 2021. The Postal Service received 3 letters in support of the relocation and keeping the post office within the community. The Postal Service has carefully considered all of the concerns expressed in appeals and comments received after the mailing. For the reasons set forth below, the Postal Service has decided to proceed with the relocation.
Relocation is necessary because the Broadway facility has fallen in disrepair and the landlord will not renew the lease. The community expressed concern that the Postal Service would not relocate within the Richvale community. The Postal Service has secured a 20-year commitment at the above location which is in the Richvale community. The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as are currently provided to our customers at the existing location. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the existing Post Office until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.
While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Richvale community, the Postal Service properly considered community input and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives.
This is the final decision of the Postal Service with respect to this matter, and there is no right to further administrative or judicial review of this decision.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
