Background:

On Friday, June 24th, in her 14th year as a postal employee, Whitney Moreci will be sworn in as Lamont Postmaster.

Moreci began her postal career in Bakersfield, CA in 2008. In 2015, she began her management career in Bakersfield as well. She later worked in Shafter, CA before coming to Lamont, CA.

“It is an honor to be selected as Postmaster of Lamont,” Moreci said. “To me a postmaster is a selfless leader who puts the needs of others first. I plan to do just that. I will wholeheartedly support our community and provide excellent customer service.”

Moreci is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and performs volunteer work in her spare time. She has one child, Dante, 15.

As Lamont Postmaster, oversees over 10,000 pieces of mail delivered daily. She manages nine employees, four city routes with a population of over 14,000.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
