Background:

May Burleson will be officially installed as the Monte Rio Postmaster.  The public is invited to attend this ceremonial event. 

Burleson is a 26-year postal employee who previously worked as a supervisor customer service at the Windsor Post office.

“It makes me proud to be trusted in the position of Postmaster,” said Burleson. “I want to be part of carrying on the tradition of Delivering for America.”

As Monte Rio Postmaster, Burleson supervises 5 postal employees, delivers to one Highway Contract Route and daily distribution of mail to 1321 Post Office Boxes.

Burleson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from University of Mandalay. She enjoys gardening and experimenting in hybrid planting.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
