Takes Oath of Office on July 15, 2022
What:
Rizwan Chaudhry will be officially installed as the Sun Valley, CA Postmaster in a special ceremony marking the occasion. The public is invited to attend this special event.
The brief installation program will feature the administration of the Postmaster’s Oath of Office to Rizwan by Woodland Hills Postmaster Clarissa Bognot.
“My goal is to provide outstanding customer service to the communities served by the Sun Valley Post Office and to contribute to the overall success of the Postal Service,” said Chaudhry. “As outlined in our USPS Delivering for America plan, we’re modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of our customers. I’m very much aware of the vital role we play in connecting neighbors and the community to the nation.

Background:
The town was originally established in 1924 as Roscoe, CA and the first postmaster Mrs. Gertrude B Leavens was installed on Jan. 15, 1924. The official town name was changed to Sun Valley on Jan. 1, 1949.
As Sun Valley Postmaster, Chaudhry supervises 39 postal employees at the Sun Valley Post Office and the daily distribution of more than 25,000 pieces of mail to 1200 PO Boxes and more than 15,000 addresses on 21 delivery routes.
Chaudhry is a six-year postal employee who previously served as a supervisor at the Canoga Park Post Office.
Chaudhry has a Master of Business Degree and a Masters Degree in Finance.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
