SAN DIEGO – Enrique Jean was recently named the Postmaster of the Bonita Post Office.

He replaces former Bonita Postmaster Alfaye Massaro, who retired.

As Bonita Postmaster, Jean supervises 23 employees and oversees retail services at the Bonita Post Office and the daily distribution of mail on 10 delivery routes and to almost 1,400 PO Boxes at his facility.

Jean is a 16-year postal employee who began his career as a mail carrier and most recently served as a supervisor at the Bonita Post Office.

I’m honored to have been selected for this great opportunity,” said Jean. “I hope to continue the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service to this community, and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities such as Bonita.

“I want to express my gratitude to my family and to my former postmasters for their support and guidance over the years. I’m also grateful to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”

Jean was born and raised in Mexico, and currently resides in Otay Mesa. He is a U.S. Navy veteran whose hobbies include spending time with his wife and three children.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
