Sean Hanes to receive the Oath of Office as 22nd Postmaster of Newport Beach PO

What:

The Santa Ana District Postal Service will host a special ceremony to officiate Sean Hanes as the 22nd Postmaster of Newport Beach; Gloria Hernandez, Manager, Post Office Operations, will administer the official oath of office.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to build relationships with my staff, customers, city, and unions in order to provide the service that is traditionally expected by them. I plan to ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our constituents,” said Hanes. “As outlined in our USPS Delivering for America plan, we’re modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of our customers. I’m very much aware of the vital role we play in connecting neighbors and the community to the nation.”

Background:

Sean Hanes has been serving the United States Postal Service since June of 1998.  He began his career as a career carrier at the Rancho Mirage, CA office. As a carrier, he has also worked in Hemet, CA; Casper, Wy; Moreno Valley, and Huntington Beach, CA.

In management, Hanes served as an acting supervisor at various post office locations before being promoted into management in 2015. Furthering his career goals, Hanes trained as a manager in offices throughout the states of California and Texas before being promoted as Postmaster of Dana Point, CA.

Furthering his career development as a Postmaster, Sean has also served in Rolla, MO, Poplar Bluff, MO, and Castle Rock, CO. After returning to CA, he moved back home to be closer to family where he began as the Officer in Charge at the Newport Beach Post Office then subsequently promoted to postmaster.

In his personal time, Sean enjoys spending time with his wife Patricia, children Tristen, Rylee, Chase, Hunter, and his grandson.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
