Background:

Christen Black will be officially installed as the Newcastle Postmaster.  The public is invited to attend this ceremonial event.  Please RSVP to Christen.D.Black@usps.gov by Sept. 8, 2022.

Black is a seven-year postal employee who previously worked as a supervisor at the Elk Grove Post office.

“It is an honor to work and serve as the Postmaster of Newcastle where I enjoy being a lifeline to my community whether it is delivering, shipping, or solving postal issues,” said Black. “I want to continue to learn and grow and be part of the PMG’s Delivering For America 10-year plan to modernize and adapt to the evolving needs of our customers.”

As Newcastle Postmaster, Black supervises 9 postal employees, delivers to four rural routes and daily distribution of mail to 1042 PO Boxes.

Black intends to pursue a Bachelor of Art degree in Business Administration in Sacramento State University.  She enjoys working out, cooking, reading, dancing and playing football and basketball with her two children Alijah and Laila.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
