Manages USPS Delivery & Retail Services for Rimforest

RIMFOREST – Shawn Yanez was recently named the Postmaster of the Rimforest Post Office.
As Rimforest Postmaster, Yanez supervises one employee and oversees retail services at the Rimforest Post Office and the daily distribution of mail to 330 PO Boxes at his facility.
He replaces former Rimforest Postmaster Ron Ward, who moved on to another postal facility.
Yanez is a 21-year postal employee who began his career as a mail carrier and most recently served as a supervisor at the San Bernardino Main Post Office.
“I’m honored to have been selected for this great opportunity,” said Yanez. “It’s especially meaningful because I’ve lived up in these mountains most of my life, and I’ve had my share of ups and downs. This is a definite high point!
“I hope to continue the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service, to serve as a positive mentor to my employees, and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities such as Rimforest.
“I want to express my gratitude to all of my managers and coworkers who have supported me throughout my career, and to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”
Yanez was born in San Bernardino and raised and currently resides in Crestline. He is a graduate of Rim of the World High School and attended the University of Phoenix.
Yanez’s hobbies include spending time with his family, art, BBQ and playing the drums.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
