Blythe Native Manages USPS Services from Parker Dam to Cibola
BLYTHE — Chylea Miller was recently named the Postmaster of the Blythe Post Office.
She replaces former Blythe Postmaster Jennifer De Lara, who moved on to another postal facility.
As Blythe Postmaster, Miller supervises 27 employees and oversees retail services at the Blythe Post Office and the daily distribution of mail on 12 delivery routes and to more than 2,500 PO Boxes at her facility. Her office serves customers across three counties and two states, including the communities of Parker Dam, Earp, Big River, Blythe, Ripley, Palo Verde and Cibola.
Miller is a three-year postal employee who began her career as a mail carrier and most recently served as an admitting clerk in the emergency room of the Palo Verde Hospital.
“I’m thankful to have been selected for this great opportunity,” said Miller. “I hope to continue the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service, to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and efficiency, and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities such as Blythe.
“I want to express my gratitude to my family for standing behind me and pushing me every day. I also want to thank the managers who’ve encouraged and supported me throughout my career, and the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”
Miller was born, raised and currently resides in Blythe. She is a graduate of Laughlin High School and Palo Verde College and received an Associate Degree in nursing from College of the Desert.
Miller’s hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, dancing and fishing.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
